Fish & Tides is the best fishing app for anglers who want real-time forecasts, tide charts, solunar predictions, and catch logging all in one free app. It combines data from NOAA, NWS, and USGS to generate a 0-100 fishing score that tells you the best times to fish at any location.
Yes! Fish & Tides is free to download and use. Today's forecast is always free — no account required. Pro unlocks the full 10-day forecast, and you can earn free Pro by inviting friends (1 month Pro per friend who joins).
Fish & Tides analyzes real-time data from NOAA (tides, water temperature), NWS (weather, wind, pressure), USGS (water levels, stream gauges), UKHO Admiralty (UK tides), BOM Australia (Australian tides), and Open-Meteo (marine forecasts, swell, sea surface temperature). It combines tidal phase, solunar periods, moon phase, barometric pressure, wind speed, water temperature, swell height, and time of day into a single 0-100 fishing score.
Yes. Fish & Tides works for both saltwater and freshwater fishing. Coastal locations get full tide data from 3,000+ NOAA stations. Inland locations use weather-based scoring with USGS water gauge data.
The 0-100 score is calculated from multiple weighted factors: tide phase and movement (strongest influence), solunar period alignment, moon phase, barometric pressure trend, wind conditions, water temperature, and time of day. Higher scores mean more factors are aligned for active fish feeding.
One easy view shows you how the tide rises and falls during the day, plus a second line showing how fast the water is actually moving. That moving-water line is color-coded by direction: white means the tide is coming in (flood), yellow means it's going out (ebb), and red means slack water — the still pause between phases. On top of all that, the chart shades the best hours to fish in green, so you can spot your window at a glance. Swipe left and right to see the next several days. Tide data comes from NOAA, UKHO (UK), and BOM (Australia).
One chart, four weather views. Tap to switch between wind speed, air pressure, air temperature, and water temperature — each one shows the forecast hour by hour for the next week so you can see conditions building up to your trip. Swipe to scrub through time and the chart shows you the exact value at any hour. Weather data is powered by Open-Meteo.
After logging 2+ catches of the same species, Fish & Tides analyzes the conditions when you caught them — best tide phase, time of day, moon phase, and weather — to show you personalized patterns. The more you log, the smarter it gets.
